On the 18th of February Marshall Office of the Lower Silesia Region hosted a meeting entitled „Regional energy safety - needs, challenges, problems” which covered topics such as: possibilities to ensure energy safety in a region/municipality, contribution of renewable energy sources in this process and ways of funding sustainable energy projects.The audience included 54 people: representatives of Lower Silesia municipalities and towns, representatives of local universities and energy entrepreneurs.
The meeting addressed the issue of rational use of energy sources available in the Lower Silesia region and possibilities of developing new renewable energy infrastructure. The speakers included experts in energy systems, various renewable resources, national and European funding mechanisms. Both speakers and participants of the workshop expressed a need to establish stronger cooperation among various organizations involved in renewable energy in order to ensure future energy security of the Lower Silesia region.
