Czech project partner the Local Action Group Moravian Karst (PP5) organized the regional meeting in their area of interest in November 2012.The meeting was focused on benefits of renewable energy sources and achieving of energy savings. The program of meeting was divided into two separate parts. The morning session was mainly focused on mayors, local administration (especially from the Moravian Karst) and expert public. The afternoon session was mostly addressed to general public.
The topics as municipal energy management, planned subsidies in public lightening and wastewater treatment plants had been presented in morning session. Also the mayor of Kněžice – one of very few energy self-sufficient villages in the Czech Republic – accepted the invitation to present his experience to mayors from the Moravian Karst.
The afternoon session offered performances about different ways of usage of solar energy, low energy reconstruction of houses or Green saving programme 2 – subsidy for individual households. The meeting was enclosed by contribution to carsharing which is popular and common in West Europe but unique in the Czech Republic.
During the meeting overall 11 speakers from different sectors (public, business and nonprofit sectors) spoke about their field of interests.
